For an extended period, Apple users have enjoyed the benefits of AirDrop, a feature that allows wireless file sharing between nearby iOS devices. On the other hand, Android operating system users did not have access to a similar tool.
Google allowed this difference for many years, but it has now resolved the issue for Android users. Since last year, Android device users can enjoy the new wireless sharing. Meet Nearby Share!

Google uses wireless sharing tool for Android users
The novelty had only been rolled out to US residents, but Google has now announced its global expansion to nearby sharing. On a support page, the company revealed that the tool will soon be available to Windows PC users around the world. In the statement, they announced expansion to North Korea, Iran and Syria.
Just like AirDrop for Apple, the nearby sharing feature allows users to receive or send photos, documents and other types of files between nearby Android devices and PCs with Windows. This functionality provides a convenient and quick way to share content between different devices, improving the user experience for Android users.
If you haven't checked out the new tool yet, know that it might be available! Head to the 'Settings' tab, then select 'Google', 'Device Connections' and 'Share Nearby'. The listing that appears after the search will direct whether sharing is available.
Tap 'Enable' and three options will appear: all contacts, some contacts and hidden. Select one of the options and then search for the file you want to share by clicking on 'Share', 'Share Nearby' and 'Select Contact' to finish.
