Does life really pass before our eyes?
Scientists were able for the first time to track brain activity while he was in the process of dying. The electrical patterns observed demonstrated that the brain waves that were stimulating the brain were linked to the process of remembering memories. Thus, we can conclude that YES, the brain can make you remember moments of your life, while you are on your way to death.
Such a discovery was occasional, because the initial intention was to monitor the brain activities of people suffering from epilepsy. However, during an examination, an 87-year-old patient who was being monitored, ended up having a sudden illness and died.
After the patient's death, the monitors had not indicated the death and therefore the doctors did not realize what had happened. That way, the monitors still recorded 15 minutes of brain activity while he was winding down.
You scientists prioritized the last 30 seconds of the recording, evaluating both sides of the organ. With that, after the patient's heart stopped beating, the so-called "gamma oscillations" were observed, which are linked to dreams, memory recovery and even meditation. And it was precisely for this reason that scientists concluded that, even though it is in its final phase, the brain really struggles to be able to remember the moments of your life.
