In recent years, it has been possible to observe the growth of collectors of somewhat recent “vintage” items, such as old cameras and even cell phones. There are even those who are willing to enter auctions to buy off some of these objects from the 2000s. Experts say AI is a force for good

At auction, a user presented a first generation iPhone that had been in the box since its manufacture. It is the first version of the popular phone that hit the world market.
Including, this device in this model did not even arrive in Brazil, giving dimension to how much the item can be considered a real find.
In this case, what most caught the attention of the auction participants was the fact that this device had been in the same place since its manufacture. Therefore, it would be the same as opening a brand new iPhone to perform all the settings, except that the product should have been opened almost 15 years ago.
Thus, the initial bid was already quite daring, since it was at US$ 2,500. With that, the initial value alone was almost twice the inflation in the United States in that same period.
That's because, if you only count inflation, the device should cost something around US$ 1,300, given its original value of US$ 900. However, the final value was the most surprising.
iPhone sold for $62,000
At the end of the auction, the iPhone device sold for a hefty $62,000. This means almost 70 times its original value in 2007 and represents an absurd profit for the seller.
Furthermore, the value would be more than R$ 300,000 if we converted it to Brazilian currency, therefore, an amount capable of buying many things.
To get an idea, some new cars here in Brazil cost less than this amount, while the sale price is similar to the total paid for a Mercedes-Benz or a BMW.
Furthermore, it is worth mentioning that the expectation is that auctions like this will happen more frequently with devices from the 2000s. So if you have any, keep them.
