How does IPTV work?
Maybe you don't know how to quickly identify what an IPTV service is, however, this type of subscription to television channels is very common in Brazil. For most people, this type of service is probably known as “cable TV”, which in turn is present in the homes of many Brazilians.
Basically, IPTV transmits images and television channels, usually paid channels, over the internet. This resource can be given within the legality, as well as within the criminality. For example, there are many “cable TV” services around Brazil that sell access to TV channels that are transmitted over the internet.
However, many of these companies do not have the right to disseminate this content and, in fact, do so illegally. In fact, many of those who subscribe to this type of service are not even aware that it is a clandestine way of guaranteeing access to television channels, since they have to pay regularly every month.
Anatel intends to combat clandestinity in 2023
According to a statement by Anatel's inspection superintendent, Hermano Tercius, the Agency aims to combat piracy more vehemently in the near future. To this end, a project to block these illegal services is being prepared and should be ready and put into action in 2023.
Thus, the expectation is that inspection of the provision of these services will be greatly increased next year, which should remove many clandestine television stations from functioning. Therefore, if you have contracted any IPTV service, try to make sure that everything is legal.
