The app and its new functions
The “Caixa Tem” application, by Caixa Econômica Federal (CEF), intended for receiving social programs and citizen benefits, helps with social services and bank transactions.
The app was created with the aim of making Emergency Aid payments possible, which was one of the government's actions to help vulnerable families face the effects of the pandemic. However, nowadays, the platform ended up gaining new functions and is also used in Auxílio Brasil transfers.
Although its launch took place during the government of Jair Bolsonaro, Caixa still intends to continue with the application and maintain its operation, even after the inauguration of President Lula da Silva. Thus, no Brazilian citizen who already enjoys the services of “Caixa Tem” will need to worry about this.
At the moment, the application offers services such as withdrawals, deposits, transfers, purchases, loans, anticipation of the FGTS birthday withdrawal and much more.
Changes to the Brazil Aid in 2023
As previously mentioned, this program was created in 2020 with the aim of helping the most vulnerable Brazilians to face the economic crisis in the pandemic. However, in 2023, the program will return to its original name of “Bolsa Família” and intends to recover the rules abandoned in the last presidential term.
Minister Gilmar Mendes, of the Federal Supreme Court (stf), authorized the release of credit for social programs that ensure a minimum income for Brazilians and the most vulnerable low-income families. Thus, the new government no longer needs the PEC to maintain the payment of R$ 600 per month.
