According to reports by biologist Gilberto Duwe, from the Jaraguaense Environment Foundation (Fujama), the snake was climbing onto the bed when residents saw it and ran out into the street. When Duwe arrived at the scene, the snake had already hidden in the baby's crib.
Fortunately, the animal was removed from the scene without causing harm to the family. The biologist warns that the canine can bite when it feels threatened, but this one was calm at the time of capture. The occurrence serves as a reminder for people to remain alert to the dangers that may arise, even indoors.
Recurring cases of snakes in homes
In addition to this case, others have been recorded. This is because the canine snake is a common species in some regions of Brazil, which can be dangerous if it feels threatened. Therefore, it is important to take precautions to avoid unwanted encounters with venomous animals.
Some simple measures can help prevent snakes from entering homes, such as keeping doors and windows closed, seal cracks and holes in walls and under doors, and keep the yard clean and organized. In addition, it is important to avoid leaving leftover food exposed and storing garbage in closed containers.
What to do if you find a snake in your home
If you find a snake indoors, it's important to remain calm and not try to capture it. The ideal is to call professionals specialized in the removal of venomous animals to do the job safely. With these precautions, it is possible to live more peacefully with the local fauna and avoid accidents.
