South Korean president sings 'American Pie' at meeting, receives applause

Last Wednesday, the 26th, the White House received the president of south korea, Yoon Suk Yeol. Subjects related to politics did not steal applause and were not as attractive as the voice of the South Korean president singing “American Pie” in a relaxed moment.

The dinner was attended by President Biden of the United States, who was amazed by President Yoon's performance singing Don McClean's classic song, which was a hit in 1971. What was unexpected wasn't just the voice of another president, as this was Biden's favorite song growing up.

Yoon demonstrated his command of English, music and spread sympathy among the guests. Applauded when he finished singing, the South Korean left Biden surprised by the musical quality that was short-lived, but was enough to leave the audience on their feet. Check out the video below!

Yoon, South Korean President, sang Biden's favorite song

The singing also surprised the guests, and Biden confirmed that it was his favorite song. Yoon had only one piano, sang a short part of the song for less than a minute and then was applauded for his performance on the second day of the meeting. Biden was evidently unaware of his political colleague's gift.

Biden presented President Yoon with a guitar autographed by McLean, an American musical idol, which was sent directly by him. In a relaxed tone, the US president informed that Yoon will be the next attraction of the meetings.

The audience was full of talents, such as Angelina Jolie, with her son Maddox, Senator Mitt Romney, Joanna Gaines and billionaire David Shaw along with Carl Page (brother and partner of the CEO of Google). The meeting marked the moment when South Korea returned to the White House, which has not happened since December 2022.
