The trend suggests that graduates are looking for a more flexible work style that is adaptable to the technologies and demands of the digital age.
The company's research, carried out by Propeller Insights, involved 1,000 Gen Z Americans, ages 22 to 25.
The study took place between the 25th and 31st of May. With the goal of empowering businesses, NinjaOne seeks to simplify IT management and improve the efficiency of IT teams, resulting in increased user productivity.
The job market will need to adapt to new demands
Shay Mowlem, director of marketing and strategy at NinjaOne, points out that today's graduates have clear expectations for to work, including easy use of technology, flexibility and the opportunity to work remotely as digital nomads.
According to him, companies that want to attract and retain the best talent must adapt to these preferences, offering an integration process streamlined and providing the technology necessary for employees to perform their roles efficiently, regardless of their location.
According to survey data, nearly a quarter (23%) of Generation Z, known for being the first digital generation, has a preference for a remote work environment.
Additionally, around a third (32%) of respondents opt for a hybrid working model. The survey also revealed that 38% of respondents consider the need to be in the office five days a week as one of the main obstacles to finding their dream job.
The survey also revealed that the digital first generation values a positive IT onboarding experience from the beginning of their professional journey. The vast majority (94%) of respondents consider this experience as “very important” or “somewhat important”.
Additionally, nearly the same percentage of Gen Z members (90%) said they feel comfortable with IT admins. working remotely on their computers while they themselves work in remote locations, whether at home or elsewhere local.
