'Should dress up at school': Boy criticizes teacher's outfit (jeans and t-shirt)

After a photo of the New Jersey art teacher went viral in late 2022, she was the subject of criticism and controversies regarding her clothing, with jeans and a T-shirt, considered by many to be inappropriate for the school.

On a TikTok which received numerous responses, a profile expressed its opinion about the teacher's clothing, questioning whether it was appropriate to be wearing at school. These comments were clearly intended to suggest that her clothing was inappropriate.

Many men and women came to the teacher's defense, arguing that the real problem was not her clothes, but the attitude and judgment of those who criticized her.

Teacher was exposed and judged for the clothes she wore inside the school

The dress code will vary from company to company, but not always what we wear pleases other people. Incidentally, criticism can often be endowed with prejudice.

A woman defending the teacher argued: "If we stopped sexualizing women's bodies in everyday life, this would not be a problem, because it is not a problem." She emphasized that the teacher's school clothes were not inappropriate.

The woman who was against the boy's comment on TikTok, which has since had the video deleted, shared her opinion that the teacher's clothing was not a problem. The teacher was wearing a pair of jeans, with a belt, as well as sneakers and an ordinary T-shirt.

Though the jeans were tight on her, it's important to point out that she was completely covered, from head to toe. To criticize even women's forearms would be an unwarranted exaggeration.

Roxsana Diaz, the art teacher, expressed her frustration over the hate she was receiving and shared her experiences on multiple occasions, including on her Instagram account. She also had the opportunity to speak about the reaction she received on the Tamron Hall Show.

The photo that went viral was originally posted by Diaz in March 2021 and remained on her page for over a year and a half before coming to attention in August 2022.

The delay in the photo's rebound highlights how a single event can go viral and trigger a series of reactions and discussions at a later point in time.
