Marília Mendonça is Spotify's most listened to artist in 2022 in Brazil. The singer and songwriter, known as the queen of suffering, died just over a year ago.

Considered the leader of feminejo, a subgenre of country music, the Goiana had a meteoric career. She died at age 26 in a plane crash, causing commotion across Brazil.

Famous for being the "queen of suffering", for writing and singing songs about love, suffering and betrayal, Marília Mendonça was one of the main names in Brazilian music between 2015 and 2021."
