Life of Marília Mendonça

Marilia Dias Mendonca was born on July 22, 1995, in Cristianópolis, in the interior of the state of Goiás. However, she moved to the capital Goiania as a child, where he remained until the end of his life.

Daughter of Ruth Dias and Mário Mendonça, the singer had eight siblings, of which seven were on her father's side. Marília had only one younger brother on her mother's side. The young man, named João Gustavo, is also a singer.

Death of Marilia Mendonca

Marília Mendonça died on November 5, 2021, at the height of her singing and songwriting career. She was the victim of an air disaster that, at the time, impacted the entire country.

The woman from Goiânia was traveling in an air taxi from Goiânia to Caratinga, in the interior of Minas Gerais, where she would give a presentation. Abiceli Silveira, her uncle and assistant, producer Henrique Ribeiro, the pilot and co-pilot also died in the accident.

Before the burial, the singer's body was laid to rest at the Goiânia Arena gym, where more than 100,000 people passed, including family, friends and fans. Marília Mendonça is buried in the Parque Memorial de Goiânia cemetery.
