Registration for the 14th Brazilian History Olympiad is now open

Registration for the 14th edition of the National Olympics in History of Brazil (ONHB) is now open. The registration deadline ends on April 22, but those who register before March 10 will have a discount on the fee.

The application fee values ​​change according to the school (public or private), see:

Public schools 

  • Registration by March 10th: BRL 35 per team
  • Registration from March 11 to April 22: BRL 75 per team

Private schools

  • Registration by March 10th: BRL 55 per team 
  • Registration from March 11 to April 22: BRL 115 per team

Teams must be formed by a history teacher and three students who may be enrolled in the 8th or 9th grades of elementary school and/or high school.

When and how will the competition be?

The History Olympiad will be held from May 2 to June 11 and will feature six online stages.

Each stage of the competition will last one week, each stage consisting of multiple-choice questions. The answers will be obtained from debates among colleagues, research in books and on the internet, teacher's guidelines and references and documents offered in the test.

The Olympics is not restricted to themes about the History of Brazil, there are also questions about interdisciplinary subjects such as Geography, Literature, Archeology, Cultural Heritage, Current Affairs and Urbanism.

Held by the State University of Campinas (Unicamp), the 14th edition of ONBH will have its final at the institution's headquarters, in Campinas, on August 20 and 21, if the pandemic allows.

All participants will receive a certificate of participation in the competition. Therefore, it is very important that personal data are correctly filled in at the time of registration.

Participants in the final phase (students and teachers) will receive gold, silver, bronze and "crystal" medals, as well as a trophy for the schools of the winning teams.

The Olympiad score can be used in the selection of Olympic Vacancies at Unicamp for two places in the History course, without the need for entrance exams.
