Nickel Cadmium Batteries

The nickel-cadmium battery is one of the most used in the world, they are responsible for maintaining devices such as camcorders and cell phones in operation, and, in addition, thousands of times. We say that a battery has this aspect because all the semi-reactions that occur for its functioning can happen in a reversible way.
The energy needed to recharge this type of battery is supplied by an external generator (chargers). Follow the semi-reactions that occur inside the nickel-cadmium battery:
negative pole (anode)
Cd + 2 OH- → Cd (OH)2 + 2 is (electrons)
positive pole (cathode)
NiO2 + 2 H2O + 2 is → Ni (OH)2 + 2 OH-
This battery won the market for its great durability.
