Shopping Center History

The first large commercial centers appeared around the 10th century BC. Ç. and it starts with the Grand Bazaar. Located in present-day Iran, the Grand Bazaar is a ten kilometer covered commercial structure. Another important shopping center was the Oxford Covered Market (Oxford Covered Market), officially opened in England on November 1, 1774, and exists to this day. In 1828, the first shopping centers were created in the United States of America, in the state of Rhode Island. The Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II in Milan, named after the then King of Italy, was created in the 1860s.

Currently, the dispute is over who makes the biggest mall. The South China Mall in Dongguan (north of Hong Kong), China, is the largest in the world today, however should be surpassed by others currently under construction in China itself, and in the UAE United.
