How to educate memory

Memory is the main ally of all activities we do every day, whether mental or physical. To use it to our advantage, it is necessary to train and exercise it so that it does not let us down whenever we need to remember something important.
The ability to store information is linked to the physical capacity of the brain (health and well-being) and the ability to organize data during the learning process. Both capabilities are linked to the quality of sleep. The “volatile” memory we use to remember everyday things picks out whatever is most important and passes it on to permanent memory while we're sleeping. For this reason, people who have sleep disorders such as insomnia, sleepwalking, and sleep apnea (snoring) have more difficulty concentrating and more forgetfulness. In these cases, medical help is essential.
Remembering things is also linked to intelligence, storage ability and interest in the subject. If a person does not like a certain subject at school, they will probably have a very difficult time learn it and memorize it, as your brain discards the related information by considering it "volatile".

how to improve
The game of chess is a good exercise for memory and logical reasoning (and quite an ally for math classes). Taking care of food is also important and adding breads, cereals, vegetables and fruits to your menu is essential, as these foods contain thiamine, folic acid and vitamin B12, essential for the maintenance of the brain and memory.
The repetition method helps in archiving information, as it makes the brain believe that information is important and therefore stores it. Try to associate ideas with facts or other ideas to create a system of connections, which makes you remember one thing when you forget another.
Finding out what kind of memory you have is also extremely helpful in selecting the best study method. There are people who have visual memory and therefore need to study using reading, drawing, and graphical schemes to be successful in storing content. For others, memory is auditory and, therefore, the content to be memorized must be verbalized, the texts must be read aloud and discussed with other people. The last type of memory is the kinesthetic one, related to the movements that must be made to associate ideas.
Now that you know what to do, it's important to know what not to do. Anxiety and nervousness are absolutely harmful for the proper functioning of memory and, for this reason, they must be controlled, for example, with breathing exercises. This is an effective way to avoid the famous “whites” and memory lapses.
