When the subject refers to so many questions about linguistic facts, verbal inflections seem to be a matter of extreme relevance. Nothing more natural, given the peculiarities that guide this class, not always plausibly understood by users. In this sense, in addition to expanding our knowledge through assiduous reading, frequent consultations on a good grammar, some tips are also very welcome. Thinking of bringing you, dear user, the necessary knowledge of linguistic facts, here are some tips:
Have you ever had doubts about using the infinitive or inflected form? If so, note certain cases that illustrate such an occurrence:
IS OR IS?
It is simple, as it is only necessary to be aware that the infinitive form can be replaced by another infinitive form, while the inflected form cannot. So, note:
the girl can be mistaken.
As well as she can:
Floormistaken (replacement by another infinitive).
Do not stop now... There's more after the advertising ;)
Never “The girl can it is mistaken”.
GIVE OR GIVE?
The director from the new chance for students.
In this case, it would not be possible to use the infinitive, since when performing the substitution, we would get the following wrong speech:
The director Give way new chance for students.
Based on the assumptions listed here, be aware of these details, which make all the difference. And more: always practice reading and writing, in order to increase your linguistic competence.
