Learning from the News

Upon entering high school, it is of fundamental importance that students have contact with facts and events that occur both in Brazil and in the world. These become part of everyday school life, are charged in the classroom, through discussions and group work, and appear in tests.

Indeed, this contact is considerable, as it brings the student up to date information, making him aware of the most important political-social problems in the world.

Keeping in touch with newspapers and magazines with national circulation is an important tool for those preparing for the entrance exam, as this knowledge is demanded in the exams, with students to quote in the essays, as well as graphic analysis of such facts, in addition to being necessary to make criticisms and reflections about the same.

This knowledge is required because schools consider that students are in the condition of opinion makers, who do not live alienated from social problems, but who are participatory as citizens.

The subjects are very diverse, such as sports, leisure, culture, politics, religion, wars, biodiversity, geology, degradation environmental, among several interesting ones to make the tests less stressful, more oriented to the world than to content only schoolchildren.

In addition, students who have contact with social issues, who read about them, have a greater ability to argue well when you present a script, your vocabulary becomes richer, which differentiates you from others.

So, letting go of laziness and starting to find out about the things that happen in the world is a excellent way to prepare for the entrance exam, expand your knowledge and ensure success in University graduate.

Ask your parents to subscribe to a national social affairs magazine or a quality newspaper. And if you cannot afford it, look for your school's library, which will certainly have this material at your disposal.
