The human body is divided into three fundamental parts: head, stem and members.
The head is formed by the skull and the face. The trunk is made up of the chest and abdomen. Members are divided into superiors (arms, forearms, shoulders and hands) and inferior (hip, thighs, legs and feet).
The limbs allow the body to move, that is, they are responsible for mobility, support and balance.
Upper limbs
The upper members are:
- Arms: The human body is formed by two arms (left and right), with the humerus being the only bone present in these limbs.
- forearms: Located between the elbows and wrists, the forearms are made up of two bones: radius and ulna (ulna).
- shoulders: The shoulders, also called the shoulder girdle, are formed by two bones: the collarbone and the scapula.
- Hands: The human body is made up of two hands, made up of 5 fingers each. You hand bones they are: carpal bones (eight bones), metacarpal bones (five bones), and finger or phalanx bones (three bones).

Lower members
You lower members they are:
- Hip: The hip (pelvis, pelvis or pelvic girdle) is the transition site between the trunk and lower limbs. It is formed by the bones: ilium, ischium, sacrum, pubis; and in women this structure is wider in order to facilitate childbirth.
- Thighs: The thighs are located above the knees and act to support the body. They are formed by the largest bone in the human body: the femur.
- Legs: the legs have the function of supporting the body and are located between the knees and the ankles. They are formed by the bones: tibia and fibula.
- Feet: The human body is composed of two feet, each of which has 26 bones, namely: tarsi (07 bones), metatarsals (05 bones) and the bones of the feet or phalanges (14 bones).
Curiosities
- The lower limbs are considered bigger, stronger and more resistant, as they act in support, locomotion and balance of the body.
- The lower limbs are made up of 30 bones on each side, 26 of which are located in each foot.
- The longest bone in the body is the femur, the thigh bone of the leg.
