The Planalto da Borborema, also called Serra da Borborema, is a mountain region that is located in northeastern Brazil.
Due to its altitude, this geological formation prevents moisture and precipitation from the ocean from advancing into the interior of the Northeast.
Thus, it collaborates with the occurrence of the northeastern arid climate, directly interfering with the climate and relief that is formed in the region.
