Marcinha lives in a house that has a huge covered area. Marcinha's father decided to put ceramics in the area. The mason hired to carry out the work measured the area and said that it has a rectangular shape with the following dimensions: 9 meters wide and 12 meters long, totaling an area of 108 meters square (m²). See the illustration of the area:

If Marcinha's father decides to buy square-shaped floor blocks, 1 meter wide and 1 meter long, he will need at least 108 blocks, as each one of them has 1 square meter (m²) of area and the total surface of the covered area is 108 square meters (m²).

The area of the square and rectangle is calculated by multiplying the length measurement by the width measurement. All measurements must be in the same length unit. View the surface of the area with the ceramic blocks listed with dimensions 1 meter long and 1 meter wide.

108 ceramic blocks were used to cover the entire surface of the area.
Important: The square meter (m²) is equivalent to the surface occupied by 1 square of 1 meter side.
After covering the entire surface of the area, Marcinha's father plans to change the entire floor of the house's video room. The dimensions of the room are 6 meters long and 4 meters wide.

From these dimensions it can be concluded that the room has 24 square meters of area (6m x 4m).
