Hey, it seems that you felt surprised when you came across the title expressed in the main subject of our meeting, didn't you? So we would like you not to feel that way, as we have an invitation to offer you. Do you know which one? Access the text “Knowing the difference between class and function, as the information found there is essential to your learning. Know that we are not dealing with anything unusual, that is, nothing that we have not discussed previously. So, for starters, obviously you know that there are grammatical classes, that is, those ten: noun, adjective, pronoun, verb, etc., do you agree?
But there are still the functions they play when they are inserted in a particular sentence, as they can assume different roles. Among them, subject, predicate, direct object, indirect object, nominal complement, subject predicative, in short, there are many of them.
So, since some concepts were remembered, how about we analyze some examples so that we can understand even more, huh? Come on???
The textual organization represents the ability we have to structure sentences and sentences in order to make them clear and precise
Happy, the girl entered the classroom.
The girl happily entered the classroom.
The girl, happy, entered the classroom.
We ask you: Do all three of these linguistic utterances portray the same idea?
Certainly your answer will be positive, given that the idea printed on them is the same. But then what's different?
As you noticed, the way the elements are arranged in all of them diversifies a little bit, do you know why?
Well, because our dear Portuguese language enables us to work, as long as we have the ability to syntactically organize all the elements of a sentence, differently.
Thus, in all the examples that supported us, we found that there is the presence of a subject – the girl, a predicate – entered and two complements – in the room and happy.
We concluded, after developing this pleasant study, that the idea remains the same, but the way in which the elements are arranged is that it is a little different.
So don't forget an important detail: syntactic organization is characterized by the way in which we structure the elements of a sentence, a sentence, in order to make our speech objective, clear and I need it, ok? Always remembering that for this to happen it is also necessary that we have knowledge of the functions that a certain word plays within a sentence.
