We all know we should keep a healthy eating, rich in products of vegetable origin and with little amount of fats and sugars. Despite this, what we see is an increase in the consumption of industrialized products, rich in fats and preservatives, and of fast food, like pizzas and sandwiches. But does this habit do any harm?
First, we must understand that a food Healthy is based on the consumption of all the nutrients necessary for the proper functioning of the body. Therefore, it is essential that our diet includes proteins, carbohydrates, lipids, vitamins and minerals.
With the increasingly frenetic pace of big cities, we have little time to take care of food and we end up consuming fast foods, such as snacks. These foods, however, do not always contain all the nutrients in the proper amount for our body, causing serious damage to health.
According to the World Health Organization, a large part of the population does not ingest the minimum recommended amounts of mineral salts and vitamins, for example. This deficiency can cause bone formation problems, anemia, muscle weakness, vision problems, breathing difficulties, etc.
In addition, processed foods can contain substances that are harmful in large amounts, such as sugars, fats and sodium. Sugar, for example, may be responsible for increasing weight and the amount of fat in the blood. Fat, in turn, is related to blood vessel and heart problems; and sodium causes high blood pressure when consumed in excess.
An inadequate diet can lead to obesity.
It is also worth noting that inadequate nutrition can trigger obesity, a chronic disease that affects a large portion of the population and is the result of excess body fat. Obesity is not just a simple aesthetic problem, being related to cases of high blood pressure, diabetes, heart attacks and even cancers.
Sometimes it's not overfeeding that causes harm, but nutrient deficiency.. is called malnutrition the clinical condition characterized by a deficiency of some nutrient, either by poor diet or by insufficient intake. This health problem causes muscle loss, weight loss, changes in skin and hair, anemia, bone and nervous system changes, among other damage.
