Spin off, also called drift, is a term used to designate what was derived from something previously developed or researched. It is used in different areas, such as business, media, technology, etc.
In technology, there are spin off when a technology results in the deployment of existing ones. For example, when a technology is created and other scientists start from this principle to create new ones, starting from that already created.
