It tells the story of the kings of the fictional city of Serafia do Norte, Augusto (played by actor Carmo Dalla Vecchia) and Cristina (played by actress Alinne Moraes).

In Brazil, cordel literature is found in the Northeast, mainly in the states of Pernambuco, Paraíba, Rio Grande do Norte and Ceará.

It used to be sold in markets and fairs by the authors themselves. Today it is also found in other states, such as Rio de Janeiro, Minas Gerais and São Paulo, and they are sold at cultural fairs, culture houses, bookstores and at performances by cordelistas.
