Region is large expanse of land. It is a territory that, due to its climate, soil, vegetation, economic production and other characteristics of its own, differs from neighboring territories. It is a delimited, demarcated, established area.
Brazil was divided into five large regions, which were created observing the characteristics predominant natural and economic areas in each large area, they are, North, Northeast, Midwest, Southeast and South.
The Legal Amazon is a region, delimited by the Amazon Forest, which comprises the states of Acre, Amapá, Pará, Amazonas, Rondônia, Roraima and part of the states Mato Grosso, Tocantins and Maranhão, created with the purpose of facilitating the planning of projects for the social and economic development of the delimited area.
Another demarcated region is the International Amazon, which covers nine countries: Brazil, Bolivia, Peru, Ecuador, Colombia, Venezuela, Guyana, French Guiana and Suriname.
The Xingu region is another large area, created in 1961, where the Xingu Indigenous Park is located, in the north of the country. state of Mato Grosso, in the Center-West Region of Brazil, crossed by the Xingu River, where indigenous tribes of various ethnicities.
