Meaning of Devotional (What It Is, Concept and Definition)

devotional is the demonstration of devotion and admiration for something or something, usually related to religious aspects.

In the religious sphere, devotional is the period of time that a person sets aside to dedicate himself to God, that is, praying, thanking, reading and discussing the Bible.

As a rule, some Christians devote a few hours or minutes a day to declaring and extolling their love for God, this moment is called “devotional diary”.

The term devotional can also refer to a physical space destined exclusively for devotional practices.

Example: "The devotional chapel will be open tomorrow afternoon”.

There are also people who choose to take a devotional life, dedicating himself exclusively to matters related to his religion. In the case of Catholicism, for example, priests, bishops and other ecclesiastics are examples of individuals who follow a devotional life.

According to the church, being devotional is practicing love, dedication and respect for God. One of the ways to express this type of devotion is by respecting other people, who are considered “God's creatures”, according to most religious doctrines.
