Bocó is an informal Brazilian expression, used as a synonym for the adjectives silly, fool, idiot or ignorant.
The word bocó does not have such a negative connotation as "stupid", "stupid" or "idiot", being more associated with an ignorance concerning innocence or purity.
The origin of the word bocó, according to some definitions, came from the French expression bocaut, which means a bag made of goat skin for the transport and storage of liquids.
In Brazil, the word ended up being transformed into "bocó", and was initially used to designate a bag made of armadillo leather. As the "mouth" (referring to the bag) had no lid, people began to associate the object with "open mouths", people who had an expression of disagreement, considered "mentally slow", stupid or even ignorant.
In some regions of the country, the expression "poppy mouth" is used to say that a person is really dumb or stupid. The addition of "mola" to the term "bocó" works as if it were an "aggravation" of the expression, making it more insulting.
