Interconnected means that or that thing that is related to each other. It is an adjective and corresponds to what was connected between two or more parts.
It can be replaced, as a synonym, by integrated, interconnected and related.
The term is used to determine connected areas of companies, through information systems, as in the example: "the security company has interconnected systems". The use of the word interconnected here means that the systems communicate with each other, without the need to issue manual of information from one device to another, or the occurrence of errors or problems due to not supplying the information. Linked data is data that is, for example, collected on one machine and automatically appears on another machine to be sorted.
The word interconnected is formed by the prefix of Latin origin, inter, which means an intermediate position, that which is between one thing and another. The inter establishes the mode of the binding action, marked by the term "on". The joining of the two in interconnected represents what was connected in a certain temporal or physical space.
Difference between connected and interconnected
On is that which is joined, connected to electrical current, or related. But without an interrelation, and therefore cannot replace the word interconnected, at least not without prejudice to interpretation.
Following the example applied to security services, we can say that "the security company has interconnected systems, which are connected to the electrical system". That is, the monitoring devices communicate with each other and the database. They are integrated, and still, in turn, connected to the electrical current. If we say that the systems are simply turned on, we have the idea that they are turned on, and not exchanging information
