Assembly is a feminine noun that indicates the meeting or grouping of people who have a certain common goal.
The expression general meeting indicates a meeting where the majority of the members of a particular organization or association are present, and who have the power to make decisions related to that organization.
Assembly can also be synonymous with a society or of a club.
Many people don't know if the correct way to write is assembly or assembly, that is, whether it has an accent or not. The correct form is assembly and not assembly. This is because, according to the new orthographic agreement, the acute accent is no longer used in paroxytone words (the stressed syllable is the penultimate of the word) that have the open diphthong "ei" and "hi".
assembly of God
Assembly of God is the designation given to a denomination of evangelical Christian churches. The Assemblies of God are embedded in the doctrines of Protestantism and Pentecostalism. There are several Assemblies of God with different names, and it is the largest evangelical denomination in Brazil.
Legislative Assembly
A legislative assembly consists of the chamber of state deputies and its main function is to produce legislation.
In the Assembly, bills can be presented by committees of the legislative assembly, by the Attorney General, Court of Auditors, state deputies, Court of Justice and governor of State.
Constituent Assembly
In the realm of politics, a constituent assembly is a set of representatives of a nation, whose objective is to create a constitution or modify a constitution that is already in force.
A constituent assembly has full powers (or constituent power) to change the constitution and is convened by the people, being dissolved after fulfilling its purpose.
The first constituent assembly appeared in 1823 with the support of D. Pedro I, for the creation of the first maximum laws in Brazil. Some measures taken provided for the division of powers, between executive, legislative and judiciary, which would weaken the power of D. Peter I.
For this reason, the first constituent assembly was dissolved in 1823, in a night known as the Night of Agony, when the Army invaded the plenary, under the orders of D. Peter I.
