Meaning of Sushi (What it is, Concept and Definition)

Sushi is Japanese delicacy, characterized by being made from seasoned rice, wrapped in raw fish or fresh seafood, vegetables, fruits, eggs and seaweed.

Etymologically, the word Sushi comes from archaic Japanese and literally means "it's sour", this is because the recipe is made using an ancient oriental technique for preserving fish in vinegared and fermented rice. O Sushi was invented based on this technique, so it is known for its characteristic sour taste.

The original recipe of the Sushi it is made with a sauce of vinegar, sugar and salt, accompanied by a variety of fish and served with wasabi, a paste made from a root that has a green color and a strong flavor.

Currently, sushi has dominated the western world, being a dish appreciated in almost every country in the world. However, the dish has undergone numerous changes since its original version, giving rise to dozens of variations of sushi, mixing characteristic elements from every part of the world.
