Friend is the name given to an individual who maintains a relationship of affection, consideration and respect for another person. A friend is someone who has a great affection for one or more people, who is loyal, who protects and does his best to always help.
To call a person a friend, individuals do not necessarily need to know each other for a long time, many friendships start suddenly and gain importance for various reasons. A friend is that person who trusts himself above anything else, who is always willing to help, whether in good or bad situations.
To call someone a friend, you don't necessarily need to be just a friend. There are many family members, such as cousins, uncles, boyfriends and even the individual's parents can be considered a friend, for their posture and way of acting, for being someone always willing to talk and help.
Sometimes the friend doesn't necessarily have the same likes and desires, and in certain cases this is exactly what unites them. The friend doesn't have to be someone completely identical. He is the one who has the power to add to the other, with his ideas, life moments, information etc., or just someone to share moments and feelings.
Friend's day
The friend is so important in people's lives that they created their own day for him. Friend's Day is celebrated on July 20th. The date was created by an Argentine, from the arrival of man on the moon, on July 20, 1969. The Argentine decided to send letters to several countries to institute the Friend's Day, as he believed that the arrival on the moon was a meaning that men should unite.
Best friend
Some people call their friend “best friend,” and often these people know each other more than any member of their own family. The best friend can be someone even better than a friend, the level of loyalty, friendship, attention, affection and affection is much higher, and these are usually always together, being confidants and accomplices.
The best friend nomenclature is more used by women, but both sexes have their own best friends, which are those that the individual takes for a lifetime, and is present in all moments.
Colorful friend
There is also the colored friend, which is the relationship that takes place between men and women, as well as people of the same sex. The colorful friend is the one where an involvement greater than friendship and affection is maintained, it is a loving and sexual relationship, where those involved remain friends, but have greater contact, more intimate and intense.
In many cases the colorful friend can evolve into a loving relationship, and become a boyfriend, fiancé and even a husband.
Friends reports
In the arts there are several reports and demonstrations of friendships, whether through poems, films, literature and songs. Singer Roberto Carlos, for example, composed a song called “Amigo” that became very famous, and is known to this day. There are also several poems talking about friends, such as the Greek poem called “Poem of Gilgamesh”.
The Bible itself cites friendship, speaking in 1 Samuel (chapter 18) about the strong friendship between Jonathan and David. Some works, such as Don Quixote and Sancho Panza, Sherlock Holmes and Os Três Musqueteiros, describe the relationship with one or more friends. There are also movies and television series, such as The Fat and the Skinny, The Three Stooges, Friends, among many others.
