buddy is English slang meaning "friend" or "companion". When used among the military it means "comrade".

eBuddy is the name of an instant messaging service through the browser, created in 2003 by the Portuguese Paulo Taylor. By using the ebuddy.com website, the user can interact with all their Windows Live Messenger, Yahoo! Messenger, ICQ, Google Talk, MySpace Instant Messenger, AIM and Facebook. eBuddy services also include sending messages to cell phones, smartphones with images, videos, etc.
Initially the service was named everywhereMSN.com and was later renamed to e-Messenger. In 2006 it underwent another change to e-Buddy.
Buddy Poke
Buddy Poke is an application developed for use on social networks such as Orkut, Hi5, MySpace and Netlog. The user has the possibility to create their own avatar, a character in 3D format with characteristics custom physical, choosing: hair type and color, skin color, eye color, clothing, accessories etc.
The main purpose of creating a Buddy Poke is to express through the character various feelings related to the user's mood.
