Meaning of Bodybuilding (What it is, Concept and Definition)

bodybuildingbodybuilding is a practice aimed at the development of body muscles from hypertrophy, i.e, increase in muscle mass volume.

Bodybuilding is not considered an official sport, however there are competitions between bodybuilders to see who has the body with the most developed muscles.

Bodybuilding, as a form of competition, exists in the Pan American and Asian Games, however it has not yet been included in the Olympic Games.

In competitions between bodybuilders, the strength, proportion, size, definition and aesthetics of muscles are mainly analyzed.

One of the main goals of bodybuilding is the absence of underdeveloped muscles, that is, every muscle structure of the competitor must be at its peak of development.

One of the best-known bodybuilders is California actor and 38th Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger.

In English, the term "bodybuilding" is translated to bodybuilding.

bodybuilding categories

There are several specific categories for each type of bodybuilder, whether male or female.

Categories are defined by age groups, weight and height limits. Competitors who fit into similar groups in these three requirements are eligible to compete in this category.

All categories of bodybuilding competitions are defined by International Federation of Bodybuilding and Fitness – IFBB.

natural bodybuilding

Natural bodybuilding is a training method that began to be disseminated in the mid-1990s, in opposition to the bodybuilders' habit of consuming steroids and other drugs to help with hypertrophy muscle.

Natural bodybuilding training only advocates fitness, healthy eating, intake of natural supplements and the abolition of any type of substance that causes "hormonal changes" in bodybuilder.
