Meaning of Parquet (What it is, Concept and Definition)

Parquet, also called parquet or parquet, consists of a floor style formed by a set of wooden boards that are arranged in mosaic patterns.

Parquet is a French term and can be literally translated as “floor”. Because of the type of flooring, the word parquet was incorporated into the Portuguese language to refer to a specific paving style.

You parquet floors have a high aesthetic value, in accordance with the sophistication and quality of the materials used. The main feature of parquet is the possibility of applying different geometric shapes in the floor, from the combination of wooden boards, which can be of different sizes and shades.

In Brazil, parquet is also considered a legal term that is used as synonymous with Public Ministry, or the employees who work there.

This meaning comes from an old French tradition, which used the word parquet to refer to the king's procurators, who were at that time on the floor of the courtroom.

Also according to the old French model, only magistrates had the right to occupy seats next to the judges, sitting on dais, and were known as

magistrature debout.
