In the world, there is a huge biodiversity, having thousands of species of animals of all kinds. Thus, each region has its own fauna, able to live in the niches present there. At Europe, with an area of ​​more than 10 million km², divided into 50 countries, there are habitats of well-known animals, such as bears and wolves.

However, with the advancement of humanity out of balance with nature, many animals have already been extinct and others are in endangered. According to the European Parliament, of the eight million animals in the world, one million are already at risk of extinction.

Studies show that the animal has been an inhabitant of the Iberian Peninsula for approximately 27 thousand years, with about 440 individuals currently accounted for.

The disappearance of the Iberian lynx is mainly due to the decline of wild rabbit populations, the basis of their diet, aggravated by the loss of habitat and its continuous defragmentation (the result of human construction) and by direct persecution.
