After spending months in the routine of going to school five days a week, children and teenagers deserve to rest on vacation and breathe new air. But, depending on the profile of the young person, resting means doing different and fun activities, which can be costly.
Whether taking young people on a trip or keeping them in their hometown, it is important that parents plan and research in advance what activities can be done. Some have no cost, while others, if not organized in advance, may have a value beyond what is expected.
For the pedagogue Maria Emília Sousa, even if the young person does not travel, it is important that he rest his mind, get out of the routine, do something different, playful and innovative. “Thus, the child goes back to school happier, with a different spirit, ready to return to school with a rush, with more interest”, she explains.
Travel
When scheduling a trip, it is necessary to budget for air/land tickets, accommodation, food and tours. The budget can be made by the family or by travel agencies.
At the CVC agency, for example, the values of tourist packages vary depending on the season and the city of interest. It is possible to find accommodation and tickets in coastal cities from R$900 per person.
According to the Brazilian Institute of Economics of the Getúlio Vargas Foundation (FGV IBRE), if families choose to travel, they should take it with them. account that, in 2017, there was an increase in the costs of excursions and tours (5.97%), bars and snack bars (4.97%) and meals in restaurants (3,51%).
“Scheduled trips are welcome. The advance provision of vacation money prevents the January family budget from going into the red. Remembering that in January there are expenses with school enrollment, teaching material, property tax and property tax”, recalls André Braz, economist and coordinator of the IPC at FGV IBRE.

Clubs: if the young person is not a member, he can enter as a guest of a relative/friend;
Holiday camp: prices vary by city. At Sesc in Rio de Janeiro, for example, the value for dependents is R$95 and for users: R$195;
Zoo: prices vary by city. At the São Paulo zoo, for example, children aged 6 to 12 pay R$15. Adults or children over 12 years old, R$36;
Parks: admission is not charged;
Fairs: admission is not charged;
Mall: admission is not charged. Some bookstores, for example, may carry out activities such as concerts or storytelling. Generally, there is no entrance fee.

It is worth noting that students are entitled to half a ticket to most programs. It is also important to remember that, depending on the age of the young person, the presence of parents is required. If they are not on vacation either, the tour can be done on weekends.
However, FGV IBRE advises that parents must prepare their pockets even for leisure activities in the city. "In 2017, musical shows registered an increase of 11.75%, while recreation clubs rose 8.29% and cinemas, 6.97% - variations well above the inflation measured by the FGV IBRE".
The good news, according to FGV, is that, in 2017, the price of children's and teenagers' favorite treats became cheaper. According to the economist, bonbons and chocolates (-9.32%), biscuits (-0.13%) and sausage and sausage (1.93%) are at lower prices.
