Easter: chocolate season

Easter is the time of year when supermarket shelves are filled with chocolate, there are many eggs available in different brands and sizes. People enjoy it and want to taste it, but the question that permeates their heads is whether this delicacy will not affect good shape or health.

Without exaggeration, the chosen Easter egg can be enjoyed with pleasure, as chocolate is considered healthy and nutritious. Cocoa, one of its components, has flavonoids that act as antioxidants and keep the heart healthy. Another substance is caffeine, which increases euphoria and reasoning.

Chocolate becomes a health hazard when consumed in excess, as it is high in calories, carbohydrates, fats and a small amount of protein, which makes it one of the foods that most fattening. Therefore, note, in addition to the quantity, which can be a portion of 30 g, the type of chocolate and the time you are going to consume it, preferably in the afternoon or morning snack.

White chocolates have more fat because they are made from cocoa butter. Dark or semisweet chocolate is more beneficial because of the large amount of cocoa. Milk chocolate, by receiving powdered milk in the mass, has more protein and calcium.

When savoring this delight, which is very common at Easter time, as even those who are not a fan of sweets often end up giving in to temptation, share it with friends and family and save what is left to be consumed little by little, during the week.

Another tip is to accompany the chocolate with a good source of fiber, such as a fruit. Even so, it is necessary to moderate, not to exceed in carbohydrates. If there is excess, make up for it by drinking non-caloric and glucose-free liquids, such as green tea, which has an antioxidant.
