Portugal, or Portuguese Republic, is a European country located in the Iberian Peninsula. It is limited to the east and north with Spain and to the south and west with the Atlantic Ocean. Its territory covers an area of 92,389 km², in which about 10.7 million inhabitants live.

The climate that prevails in Portugal is the Mediterranean, it is one of the hottest countries in Europe. The vegetation consists basically of pine trees, chestnut trees, cork oaks, holm oaks, oaks and eucalyptus. As for fauna, the main animals are foxes, badger, Iberian lynx, Iberian wolf, wild goat, wild cat, hare, weasel, brown bear, among others. More than 100 species of freshwater fish are identified.
Traditionally, Portugal has always had a strong connection with agricultural activity, however, currently its economy is based on the service and industrial sectors. In agriculture, the country stands out in the production of olive trees, grapes, wheat and corn, in addition to fruits such as Algarve oranges, rock pears, cherries, and bananas. The Portuguese industrial park operates in the transformation of agricultural products and technology, among which the following industries stand out: textiles, footwear, furniture, marble, ceramics, as well as oil, petrochemical, cement, car and ship refineries, among many others.
Originally the Portuguese are made up of Celts, Iberians, Celtibers and Lusitanians. Of the total population (10 million), about 5% are immigrants from different origins, such as Brazilians, Ukrainians, and others from Cape Verde, Moldova, Romania, Guinea-Bissau, Angola, East Timor, Mozambique, São Tomé and Príncipe and Russia.
