Thomas Malthus. Thomas Malthus' Theory

English economist who developed a theory that said the population would grow so much that it would be impossible to produce enough food to feed the large number of people on the planet. Among his works, the main one was the Principle of Population.
For Malthus, food production grew arithmetically, while population growth grew alarmingly. For him, the world should indeed have diseases, wars, epidemics, he also proposed a birth control policy so that there was a balance between food production and population.
Neomalthusian Theory
From the second half of the 20th century, mainly in the 60s, there was a demographic explosion, this population growth started again the ideas of Malthus, but with an adaptation concerning historical conditions, it was called Neomalthusian Theory, this theory pays attention to the population growth arising from underdeveloped countries, such growth would cause the scarcity of natural resources, in addition to the aggravation of poverty and of unemployment.
To avoid these setbacks, neo-Malthusians proposed effective birth control policies that they called “family planning”. Even financial institutions such as the WORLD BANK and the IMF have been enforcing birth control policies.
