Colombia is a country located in the extreme north of South America. Part of its territory lies in the northern western hemisphere, in the middle of the Earth's intertropical zone.

The country is limited to the north by Panama and the Caribbean Sea; to the northeast, with Venezuela; west with the Pacific Ocean; to the south, with Ecuador and Peru; and to the southeast, with Brazil.
The Colombian territory covers 1 138 914 km², where a population of approximately 45.6 million inhabitants is distributed.
The topography of the territory is largely uneven, the highest points being in the west of the country, where the Andes Mountains are located. The highest point in the country is Pico Cristobal Colón (5775 meters above sea level). Much of the country's territory is influenced by the tropical climate, that is, temperatures are hot. In the vicinity of the Andes, temperatures are cold due to the high altitudes.
Colombia is the third largest South American economy, its economy is divided into 13.9% for agriculture, 55.8% for services and 30.3% for industry.
The country has the second largest population in South America, which is made up of a mixture of Indians, Africans and Europeans, especially Spaniards. Most of its inhabitants live in the main urban centers, which are mostly located in areas close to the coast.
The main religion in Colombia is Christianity, which is divided into Catholicism (93%) and Protestants (4%), there are other religions that total 1%, in addition to those without religion, which add up to 2%.
