Precautions about using cell phones

One of the leading cancer research centers in the United States has issued a warning about the risks of using mobile phones, due to the magnetic radiation emitted by these devices. Some studies claim that cell phones emit electromagnetic radiation that can penetrate the human brain and this could cause serious damage to health (one of them would be the appearance of tumors in the brain).

Although there is no conclusive research that confirms the relationship between cell phone use and the risk of tumors, users should start to take certain precautions. Some cell phone and cordless phone manufacturers claim that the devices emit electromagnetic radiation.

We should not expect there to be a definitive study on this subject, for it is better to be wrong by being cautious than to regret later.

Some precautions about using cell phones:

• Allow children to use cell phones only in emergencies;

Do not stop now... There's more after the advertising ;)

• Try to keep the device away from your body while in storage and use speakerphone whenever possible.

• It is advisable for people to use their cell phone only for quick conversations, as the biological effects would be directly related to the exposure time.

Another study carried out in Great Britain suggests that the use of cell phones by children should be limited and, in addition, research advises that children under the age of eight should not use these devices. Electromagnetic fields are likely to penetrate more deeply into the brains of children than adults.

In Israel, a survey of 500 Israelis indicates that the use of cell phones may be linked to an increased risk of developing cancer in the salivary glands.
