Like most countries in the Middle East, Iran has few water resources in its territory. There are basically three big rivers, they are: Karun, Atrak and Safid. Two types of climate are identified in the region, the arid subtropical and the high altitude subtropical.
The Iranian economy is closely tied to oil production. The country's exports are linked to products such as rugs, dried fruits and spices.
Despite climatic adversities, agriculture plays an important role in the composition of the country's GDP. Iran produces wheat, barley, rye, corn, sorghum, cotton, rice, grapes, apples, pears, peaches and bananas.
In livestock, it stands out in the creation of sheep, goats and camels. In fishing, the activity has not been explored to its full potential.
