Voting represents the exercise of citizenship, every four years there are elections to choose mayors and councilors. Elections to choose the president, senators, governors and deputies also take place at the same time interval, every four years. However, in different years. The presentation of electoral advertisements in the media, such as radio and TV, are released from the 5th of July of the election year.
As for the voting system, Brazil stands out on the world stage, voting and counting are done electronically.
Candidates are currently not allowed to attach stickers or any material related to the election campaign in poles, walls, bus stops and other public places, in addition to rallies with the presentation of artists.
On election days, people who, by chance, disclose the name of a candidate may be arrested and may remain in prison for a period ranging from six to one year or sentenced to community service and traffic ticket.
