El Español currently has 27 letters, all of them female. This number of lyrics was more big in the past, 29. Before the orthographic reform carried out by the RAE (Real Academia Española) in 2010, the letters “ch” and “ll” belonged to él, pero ya no. Now these letters received the denomination of digraphs, and therefore, they do not belong more to the alphabet. There are also other changes regarding the name of some letters. The “y” formerly known as “i griega” must now be named “ye”; la “i latina” pasó a only “i”.
