According to Brazilian Society of Cardiology, a obesity is one of the most serious factors for the onset of cardiovascular diseases. It is usually caused by overeating combined with a sedentary lifestyle. But it is important to remember that other factors can trigger or interfere with obesity, such as genetic, neurological, psychological, metabolic and socioeconomic factors.
Generally, doctors calculate the ideal weight through the Body mass index (BMI), which is obtained through the following calculation: BMI = Weight/height squared. When the individual exceeds 30% the ideal ratio between weight and height established by the BMI, the tendency is for his blood pressure to be higher, that he suffers from changes in cholesterol and is more prone to diabetes. In most cases, this type of individual also leads a sedentary life, which further contributes to the risk of heart problems, as your heart needs to work harder.
If the individual has a diet rich in saturated fat (which is mainly found in animal products, but also in some vegetable products, such as coconut and cocoa), there may be an increase in the rate of
cholesterol in the blood, which causes a build-up of fatty plaques in the arteries. With this buildup, the arteries become hardened and narrowed, decreasing the blood supply to the body's organs, which causes a cardiovascular disease known as atherosclerosis. As a result of this accumulation of fat, cells die, triggering an inflammatory reaction and increasing the chances of rupture of the vessel. With the rupture of the vessel, there is the formation of clots that can obstruct important arteries, such as those that supply the heart, causing the myocardial infarction, which can lead to death.O obesity treatment it depends a lot on the determination of the patient, who, following medical advice, should reduce the intake of calories (so that this is less than your expenditure) and increase the frequency of exercise physicists.
It is important to emphasize that the miracle diets that many advertise in the media can bring health problems and that many of the medications that promise to reduce weight are nothing more than diuretics (medicines that cause a great loss of water, not fat, causing damage to the body).
THE obesity it can only be treated when the obese individual commits to making a definitive change in eating habits, with a reduction in food high in sugar and fat and control the intake of foods high in carbohydrates, giving preference to foods such as low-income vegetables calorie. The practice of regular physical activities is also very important in the treatment of obesity.
