Types of soil in Brazil. Main Types of Soil in Brazil

Soil corresponds to the decomposition of rocks that occurs through actions linked to temperature, such as heat, in addition to erosive processes resulting from the action of wind, rain and living beings, such as bacteria and fungi.

Brazil stands out as a great agricultural producer, a fact that comes from its extensive territory and also from the fertility of the soil.

Due to the territorial dimension of Brazil, it is possible to identify several types of soil that are differentiated according to tonality, composition and granulation.

In Brazil, four types of soil are found, they are: terra roxa, massapé, salmon and alluvial.

Purple Earth: corresponds to a type of soil of extreme fertility that has a reddish hue. It can be found in Goiás, Minas Gerais, Mato Grosso do Sul and São Paulo. It originates from the decomposition of rocks, in this case basalt.

Massapé: is a soil found mainly on the northeastern coast, constituted from the decomposition of rocks with mineral characteristics of dark colored gneisses, limestones and phyllites.

salmon: this type of soil is found along the South, Southeast and Center-West regions of Brazil, it is constituted by the fragmentation of granitic rocks and gneisses.

Alluvial: is a type of soil formed as a result of sedimentation in floodplain areas or valleys, it is possible to be found in various parts of the country.
