Playwright is an expression that originates from the Greek "dramatourgos", which means playwright. The dramatic texts written by the playwright are intended for representation by actors, whether in theater or in television drama (novelas, films, miniseries, etc.). The name given to this art is Dramaturgy.

Texts written by ancient Greek dramatists were characterized by tragedy or comedy. Later, both styles came to be present in the same text.
