In the year 2000, the UN (United Nations) analyzed the biggest problems in the world and consolidated several goals established in the conferences over the 1990s, establishing a set of goals for the eradication of poverty and the development. You 8 Millennium Goals (MDG), which in Brazil were named as 8 Ways to Change the World, should be adopted by the member states of the United Nations, which will have until the year 2015 to reach them.

The eight goals established by the UN are:

Eradicate hunger and misery;

Provide quality basic education for all;

Equality between the sexes and valuing women;

Reduction of infant mortality;

Improve the health of pregnant women;

Combat AIDS, malaria and other diseases;

Ensure environmental sustainability;

Global partnerships for development.

The Brazilian Government, taking as a reference the United Nations Millennium Goals, promotes social inclusion projects and shows the numerous community initiatives that promote social well-being with sustainability. Sponsored by both public and private bodies, these projects aim to meet the goals set by the UN and ensure a dignified life for citizens.
