In day May 5th is the National Communications Day, date chosen in honor of the birth of Marshal Rondon, one of the main figures in the diffusion of communication systems in Brazil. For this reason, this date is sometimes referred to as “Rondon's Day”.

Brief history of communication
THE Communication it is something inherent to human activities – and living beings in general –, having been instrumentally practiced since the most remote times, being even prior to the development of writing. Over time, the societies that were formed were gradually building and improving different methods involving sending and receiving messages, establishing communication between the most diverse places.
At Middle Ages, for example, messengers were used, who had to travel great distances for several days or even months to deliver important messages. Various methods involving the bird use, mainly the pigeons, because they have characteristics that allowed their domestication and training.
Over time, the successive technological evolutions provided by industrial revolutions allowed the realization of profound changes in the means of communication, with emphasis on the invention of the telegraph and, most notably, the telephone, whose patent was obtained by Graham Bell in 1876. Nowadays, the global integration of communication networks is one of the main characteristics of capitalist society, which consolidated the progress of the process of globalization.

Tribute to Marshal Rondon
The tribute quoted from the National Communications Day to Marshal Rondon is due to the fact that he is considered the Patron of Communications in Brazil. This is because he was one of the main responsible for greater national integration, with the creation of important telegraph lines in the country, responsible for integrating the Southeast to the Midwest and North Brazilians.
At that time, the main communication system was the telegraph, created by Samuel Morse in the year 1852. However, for this medium to work, the construction of structural lines composed of posts and wires over thousands of kilometers, involving the main locations of different regions. Decades later, Rondon took the lead over much of this important achievement, which allowed the country to better develop and integrate territorially during later times.
