First Boer War

The First Boer War was the conflict between England and colonists of Dutch origin, French and German (called Boers, Afrikaners or Voortrekkers) in South Africa, between the 1880s and 1881.
The outbreak of war occurred due to the annexation by England of the territory of the Republic of the Transvaal, in 1877. Boer forces did not accept the fact and attacked all British military convoys, and in less than two weeks, all British barracks were surrounded by Boer forces.
Seeing that it could not achieve victory, the English government promoted a peace agreement with the Republic of Transvaal, which would come under the protection of England. In fact, the British only camouflaged English dominance in the region.
